Research topics: My research career focuses on the Applied Meteorology and Physics of the Atmosphere, especially in the field of Mesoscalar Meteorological Modeling. The most relevant research lines in which I participate are related to meteorological and climatic risks (extreme temperatures, torrential rainfall and atmosphere-ocean interaction), and the influence of different parameters (sea surface temperature, topography, humidity and soil temperature, etc.) in the modeling of these extreme phenomena. Currently, the lines of research I am developing are focused on the following thematic areas: 1) incorporation of parameterizations of the boundary layer and the atmospheric surface layer in mesoscale models and study of their influence on the forecast of parameters of interest (flows surface energy, meteorology, etc.), 2) incorporation of soil parameters (temperature and humidity) derived from remote sensing techniques and soil models (Land Surface Models; LSM) decoupled in mesoscale models, specifically, RAMS (Regional Atmospheric Modeling System) and WRF (Weather and Research Forecasting), 3) study of the soil-vegetation-atmosphere interaction using soil models coupled to mesoscale meteorological models, 4) modeling and prediction of different meteorological and atmospheric variables of interest.
